This bespoke gift set spans three decades of this famed estate and includes one bottle each of the 1986, 1996 and 2006 vintages. The 1986 is an astonishing vintage, with a very tight-knit tannic structure that has slowly softened over the years. It is full and rich on the palate, still a little bit firm. The 1996 is a dream Margaux, rated a perfect 100 points by Wine Advocate, showcases a purity of fruit, density of structure and harmony of shape.
The 2006 is a Cabernet Sauvignon focused wine—composing 90% of the final blend—with extraordinary aromatic finesse, a tannic richness and a particularly dense and tight-knit texture. The finish is very long, fresh and lively, a little bit firm, but already packed with flavour. All three wines are slowly evolving, hinting at the enormous potential to come.
